PROJECT LAYOUT & GRID CONNECTION

Meikle Carewe Wind Farm will consist of 12 turbines, each with a maximum height of 70 metres to the top of the blade and an overall installed capacity of approximately 10MW.  

The layout for Meikle Carewe has evolved from studies and input from experienced engineering and technical teams within RES.  The layout has also taken into account what we have learnt from carrying out environmental studies on the site and issues raised by the local community and consultees in response to our application.

In addition to the turbines the development will also consist of a small control building, high-voltage compound and interconnecting tracks.  The project will connect into the local grid via a 1.5km underground cable to the existing but unused 33kV line between Stonehaven and Newtonhill, to the north of the site.
